NAS100 (US100) is the index that humbles indicator collectors. It gaps, it trends hard out of the New York open, and it reverses on a single data print. Most "buy/sell signal" indicators are lagging by the time the move that matters has already happened.
What actually matters on NAS100
Three things decide most NAS100 days:
- Session timing. The index does the bulk of its business in the New York session, especially the first 90 minutes. An indicator that doesn't respect session context will signal into dead air.
- Directional bias. NAS100 is a momentum index. Trading against the day's bias is how small losses become account damage. A structured daily bias process beats any oscillator.
- Where the money is actually flowing. Volume on an index CFD is broker-side, so raw volume is noisy. Order-flow style tools that track effort vs result — like the Orion Order Flow indicator — give you a cleaner read on whether a push is real or exhausted.
Our honest pick
For discretionary NAS100 trading on TradingView, pair a bias tool with an order-flow read: the Orion Daily Bias to frame the day, and order flow to time entries with it. That's it. More overlays usually mean more hesitation, not more edge.
What to skip
- Repainting signal arrows. If the arrow moves after the candle closes, the backtest it sold you is fiction.
- RSI/stochastic reversal-hunting in the NY open. "Overbought" is not a NAS100 signal — it's often the start of the move.
