Why gold suits automated trading

• Volatility with structure. XAUUSD moves enough to pay for its costs, and its session behaviour (Asia range, London/New York expansion) gives rules something real to key on.
• Liquidity. Tight spreads relative to range on major brokers, so a tested edge survives contact with live fills.
• It punishes discretion. Gold's spikes are exactly where human overrides go wrong and where tested risk limits earn their keep.

The flip side: gold's costs and slippage around news are punishing for tight-stop systems - which is why every gold system we publish shows its full test record, and why news filters and honest spread modelling matter more here than on any FX pair.
