Set risk and prop firm limits in Nebula

Windows7 steps5 minEvery planNebula 0.4.54

Set how much each trade risks and where trading stops, then carry the same limits into the EA.

You need

  • Nebula open on New Test
  • your account size, and your prop firm's rules if you trade a funded account

Steps (Standard lane)

Open Size and limits

Click New Test, then Standard. The right column is Size and limits.

New Test›Standard›Size and limits

Set Risk per trade

Drag the slider. The figure shows in gold, for example 0.50%. The shaded band is the setup range, 0.1% to 1%. Inside it the card says Inside setup range. Outside it says Outside setup range and the summary marks the risk untested.

Pick a prop firm preset, or none

Open Prop limits. No preset leaves your own numbers. A preset fills Total drawdown and Daily loss with that firm's rules and ticks Stop trading when a limit is hit.

Check or type the four limits

Total drawdown, Daily loss (percent, steps of 0.5), Weekly loss (percent) and Losing streak (trades in a row). Typing in Total drawdown or Daily loss sets the preset back to none.

Decide on Stop trading when a limit is hit

Ticked, systems that would break your limits are removed from the run. Unticked, they are only flagged. This tick needs Nebula Pro or Ultimate. On Free and Starter it is switched off when the build starts. The limits themselves still apply in the test.

Read the summary

SETUP SUMMARY shows Risk and Limits, for example "FTMO 2-Step Challenge, 10% total, 5% daily", and Stop at limit Yes or No.

Build, then deploy at the same risk

Deploy starts at the risk the system was tested at. Keep it there so the tested drawdown still applies.

Prop firm presets in 0.4.54

Every preset was checked on 21 Sep 2026. The app shows "Rules checked 2026-09-21. Confirm with your firm before you trade."

Preset Daily loss Total drawdown
FTMO 2-Step Challenge 5% 10%
FTMO 2-Step Verification 5% 10%
FTMO 2-Step Account 5% 10%
FTMO 1-Step Challenge 3% 10%
FTMO 1-Step Account 3% 10%
FundedNext Stellar 2-Step Phase 1 5% 10%
FundedNext Stellar 2-Step Phase 2 5% 10%
FundedNext Stellar 1-Step Challenge 3% 6%
The5ers High Stakes Step 1 5% 10%
The5ers High Stakes Step 2 5% 10%

That is the full list: ten presets. E8 Markets and FTUK are listed as not verified and have no preset.

A preset only fills the limits. You can edit every value. Firms change rules often.

How the limits reach the EA

When you deploy a single system, Nebula writes the test's limits into the EA's inputs:

In Nebula EA input
Risk per trade InpRiskPct
Daily loss InpMaxDailyLossPct
Weekly loss InpMaxWeeklyLossPct
Total drawdown InpMaxDrawdownPct
Losing streak InpMaxConsecLosses

At deploy:

  • Risk mismatch: deploy blocked appears if you change the risk from the tested value. Cancel resets it.
  • Drawdown fit appears if the tested drawdown is past your drawdown limit. It offers a smaller size so the drawdown fits. Drawdown grows roughly in line with risk.
  • Account exposure check appears when other EAs already trade the account, because each one sizes off the whole balance.

Questions

Do the limits work on Free?

Yes. Every plan runs the test with your drawdown and daily loss as circuit breakers. Removing rule breakers from the run is Pro and up.

Is weekly loss on the Explore lane?

Not as a slider. It is set on Standard, or kept at its default of 6%.

Can I change limits after deploy?

You can edit the EA inputs in MetaTrader. The tested numbers then no longer apply.
