Nebula downloads updates by itself. You restart once to apply them.
You need
- Nebula installed (not run from the installer window)
- an internet connection
How updates work
About 8 seconds after Nebula opens, it checks for a newer version. If there is one, it downloads in the background while you work. It installs when you restart, or the next time you quit.

Check for updates
Steps
Check now (optional)
Go to Settings › Licence & System › Updates and press Check for updates. The line beside it reads Checking for updates…, then tells you what it found.

Let it download
While it downloads the version pill shows update and a percentage, and a banner reads Downloading update…
You can keep working.
Restart to apply
When it is ready the pill turns green and reads ready · restart after the new number. A banner says Update ready. Click the pill or Restart & update. Nebula closes, installs and opens again. Not now? Close the banner. It installs the next time you quit.

Read What's new
After the restart a What's new card opens, titled Updated to your new version. Press Show me beside an item to jump to it, See all for the full list, or Got it to close.

When a check fails, the button changes from Check for updates to Retry.
On a Mac: the read only volume case
Quit Nebula
Press Cmd and Q.
Put it in Applications
Open the Nebula installer file again and drag Nebula onto Applications. Replace the old copy if asked.
Open it from Applications
From now on updates install normally. Opening a copy outside Applications also shows Move Nebula to Applications. Click Move to Applications and Nebula moves itself.

FixClose Nebula yourself, then run the installer from the download page.
A Mac on 0.4.52 shows a long error after Check for updates
WhyMac 0.4.52 shows the raw updater message. It can appear while the newest release has Windows files only.
FixNothing is broken. To be sure you are current, compare with the Mac version on the download page.
The update never starts

FixDownload the current installer from the download page and run it over the top. Your systems stay.
Questions
Do I lose my systems when I update?
No. Your systems, settings and licence live outside the app folder.
Do my deployed EAs stop during an update?
No. They run inside MetaTrader, not inside Nebula.
Why is the Mac version lower?
Mac downloads are 0.4.52 today. Windows is on 0.4.54.
